HORIZON 2020
We are proud to participate in this program, which contributed to our growth in many significant ways; first and foremost, Horizon 2020 is supporting Civan by playing a key role in the R&D of its products, which, as a result, accelerated the process of commercializing them. Thanks to this collaboration, Civan has become the first company worldwide capable of deploying a commercial CBC laser system.

In addition, the Horizon 2020 program assisted our recent scale-up process, which included many aspects in Civan’s human resource, such as recruiting new employees, building new teams, training new technicians and reorganizing the product operation team. Moreover, during the project Civan has scaled up its CBC laser manufacturing line; the process included an investment in the infrastructure of the clean rooms and integration rooms, as well as new equipment for new stations and the development of software and automation tools. The success of this project pushed Civan forward, and is already showing results. Today there is a pilot planned with various end users, examining our lasers in applications such as automotive, aeronautics and metal additive.
However, our OPA6 product has benefited from the project even more; Civan received guidance developing a complete business and marketing strategies, which include marketing contents, participation in exhibitions and more.

Thanks to our new application lab, we are now able to be more independent. First, we conduct our own experiments in-house without sending it to an external research center. Secondly, we invite potential customers to have an impression of our technology at our facility, something we couldn’t provide until recently. In addition, we can use the application lab in order to test our capabilities according to the demands of potential customers, without the need of using an external lab.
